WE HAVE ONE DREAM
to offer the world the best coffee and put a smile on the faces of those who drink it.
WE HAVE ONE COMMITMENT
to promote values that respect individuals and the environment, which includes reaching Carbon Neutrality by 2033 for the 100th anniversary of our Company.
WE HAVE ONE PHILOSOPHY
to please those who appreciate quality of life with the best coffee that nature can offer, enhanced by the best technologies, sustainable practices and pursuit of beauty in everything we do.
WE HAVE ONE BLEND
which is always the same, over time and in any part of the world.
WE HAVE ONE WORLD
a world as unique as the challenges we can only overcome if we act together to protect it.
Day after day,
action after action.
We can each make a unique difference.
We establish a direct, individual, and lasting relationship with farmers, with a philosophy of cooperation based on:
by sharing 80 years of knowledge and business experience with them;
quality and guaranteeing a profitable price. The only way to make production truly sustainable is to ensure farmers are paid wages that sustain their livelihood;
by creating training programs, associations, awards, and digital communities throughout the world that, over the years, contributes to disseminating the culture of coffee for the purpose of sustainable quality.
Protecting the ecosystem is an integral part our pursuit of sustainable excellence. In addition to encouraging and developing environmentally friendly cultivation practices on plantations, we strive to reduce the impact on the entire production process within the ecosystem.
Our commitment begins in coffee-producing countries where we promote, through our University of Coffee, the dissemination of farming techniques with a low environmental impact. Furthermore, in Trieste, Italy where we roast and package our coffee, we have made substantial investments to minimize the environmental impact of processing a cornerstone of a decades-long commitment aimed at achieving Carbon Neutrality by 2033.
Since 2016, on the occasion of International Coffee Day, we celebrate and pay tribute to our coffee farmers through our global #Thanks4TheCoffee project sending thank-you messages to farmers directly from coffee lovers. These messages are hung for farmers to find on the coffee plants, their life’s work and passion.
We dedicated the first illy symphony to all coffee farmers, to thank them for the precious fruit of their work.
What would happen if there were no women in the coffee supply chain?
We created the Half a Cup campaign to demonstrate women’s critical role to the coffee supply chain.
We continued to collect thank-you messages from around the world and delivered them in a very special way: bringing them to the farmers' children who then read them to their parents.
This is the year we launched the #Thanks4TheCoffee project collecting thank-you messages allowing customers to express their gratitude to our farmers via illy stores around the world and on the illy.com website. These were delivered to our farmers by placing the notes on the coffee plants, the heart of their work.
